Data Deletion
You have the right to have your JamHaul account and all associated data permanently deleted.
What gets deleted
- Your account, email address, name, and password hash.
- All OAuth tokens — Spotify and YouTube connections are revoked immediately on request.
- All hauls, destinations, runs, sync history, review items, and match cache.
- Your settings, notifications preferences, and consent records.
- Any waitlist entries.
What is not deleted
- Playlists on Spotify and YouTube Music — any playlists JamHaul has written to your music accounts belong to you on those platforms and are not affected by deleting your JamHaul account.
- Stripe billing records — Stripe retains transaction records as required by financial regulations. You can request Stripe's deletion process separately.
- Audit log entries — anonymised entries (actor set to null) are retained for 7 years for legal compliance.
Timeline
When you request deletion:
- OAuth tokens are revoked immediately.
- Your account is suspended (login disabled) immediately.
- Full data deletion, including backups, completes within 30 days.
- You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
How to request deletion
Log in to your account and go to Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. Type "DELETE" to confirm. If you have already lost access to your account, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account.
Reversibility
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you cancel within the 30-day window before deletion completes, email us and we will attempt to halt the process.
